The people of Pakistan are called Pakistanis. About two-thirds of the population are Punjabi, tracing their origin to the Punjab region of northwest India. Other major ethnic groups include the Sindhi (13 percent), Pashtun (8.5 percent), the Baluchi (2.5 percent). For more information on the Sindhi, see the article on India in Volume 4.
